Twitter is a great place to find some retro gaming heroes. Finding those people who are as passionate as you are about video games and particularly retro video games is a hugely pleasing part of being active in the retrogaming community on Twitter.

Today's Games Freezer guest is one such person. She is an ever-present member of the Twitter retro gaming community and makes awesome YouTube content on retro gaming and current-gen gaming.

Today I am happy to present Gemma aka The Gebs 24 from Juicy Game Reviews.

Gemma's YouTube channel is brilliant and her Twitter feed is always a must-read, so let's take a look at what makes Gemma tick with another round of questions put to an awesome member of the retro gaming crew...

1. What's your earliest video gaming memory?

My earliest gaming memory is from the ZX Spectrum days.

My auntie had the Speccy and we used to play Skate or Die.

I must have been around age 5. Around the same time, my mother brought me my own ZX Spectrum for Christmas.

She was so excited that she didn't even wrap it. I played the heck out of Horace Goes Skiing.

The rest, as they say, is history

2. What was the first video game system that you owned?

The ZX Spectrum was my first gaming system.

3. How did you get into the retro gaming scene?

When the iPhone came out in 2007 I was hooked.

I got involved the iPhone modding community and became a big part of a modding forum.

The website owner developed a SNES Emulator for the iPhone which intrigued me SO much.

One day I went to log on to the site and he had completely changed it! The old forums had gone and nobody could moderate anymore.

I lost interest in the modding community after that and I needed a new passion. I decided to re-start collecting my childhood consoles from then. That naturally led me in to making YouTube videos and making connections.

4. What's your favourite video game of all time?

Super Mario Kart on the SNES.

I had an unhealthy obsession with it as a kid but was never lucky enough to own my own copy. I would always piggyback my friends' copies.

Naturally, they all thought I was crazy for liking it so much. I would talk about it all of the time and try to save to buy it but it never came off.

5. What's your favourite console of all time?

The Super Nintendo is my baby.

The bulk of my childhood was spent in the 16bit generation. I could never get enough of it

6. What's your favourite arcade game of all time?

Well, this is a tough one! My first instinct is to go with The Simpsons.

I wasn't overly exposed to arcade games as a kid. My only experiences of playing cabs were in Miners Welfare's when my grandma and grandad used to take us.

We would wander off into the games area in which there be a load of arcade cabs lined up. The Simpsons and Street Fighter 2 were the ones that I spent the most time on.

7. What's your favourite sandwich?

Definitely a tuna mayo and cheese salad baguette from Subway.
All of the trimmings have to be included to make it a wholesome experience

8. What do you order from an Indian Restaurant?

Firstly I just want to say how much I LOVE Indian food.

I'm not overly ambitious when it comes to variation so you might not be surprised that I'm a Chicken Tikka Masala kind of girl.

9. What's your favourite beer/wine/alcoholic beverage?

Yikes! Sorry, I'm not a drinker. If I left it there though it would be a lame answer so IF I drink alcohol on celebrations etc I would go for an ice cold Stella.

10. What current generation video games do you play the most?

https://twitter.com/ollymoss/status/934080026282201089

At the minute I'm playing a lot of PUBG on my PC and Call of Duty WW2 multiplayer.

Both of these games have been immensely popular on my live streams.

11. Who's your fave person on Twitter?

My fave person on Twitter? That's difficult to answer really.

There are certainly prominent people that retweet my content like yourself, Colonel Falcon, Retro Gamer Daz, Retro Gamer Club and more.

Twitter is a great place with some amazing and devoted gamers.

I'm totally happy to retweet genuine content for any gamer that tags my main account too. That's what makes our community to great; the support is so consistent for everyone.

12. What's your favourite video game genre?

I used to really love RPG's but nothing has really grappled me over the last 5 years that made me want to continue to play an RPG.

At present, I love the whole Battle Royale genre. It is fast, gripping and changes constantly. No one game is the same

13. If you were a console, which one would you be and why?

I'd be a Nintendo Switch because I don't like staying in one place for too long.

I struggle to sit still so being able to be out and about suits me.

14. Can you recommend a good retro gaming shop?

There are so many like Console Yourself, Lees Games and more!

My nearest and dearest has to be my childhood retro game store. I've done 3 Retro Game Hunt videos there. There's always a rare surprise lurking in the back. I get so much adrenaline from being there I will always be a customer

15. If you were going to do a Cosplay tomorrow, what would it be and why?

Lara Croft. We were both born in Derby, England.

16. What're the plans for your awesome YouTube Channel in 2018?

My plans for my YouTube channel are to continue to keep things fresh.

I'm always looking at developing thumbnails, streams and content to become more interactive. I love the YouTube game. I want to continue to buzz off it and enjoy it.

For me; developing my content will allow me to do that in 2018 and continue to talk to the awesome viewers about gaming.

Massive thanks to Gemma for giving us an insight into her video gaming past, present and future.
